What my "To Do" list doesn't say about me

Posted

I hate lists.  In fact, that's one of the reasons I'm such a fan of the "Getting Things Done" system.

But, even using that system, there are times you simply need to write a to do list, whether it relates to what I need to do today, or what I need to do this year! (Major goals etc)

But I've quickly worked out that it's not my "To Do" list that defines me, it's my "Got Done" list.

This holds true at every level of my life, but it's especially true of my Christian walk.  Paul makes it clear in Romans, (as does James in his letter and Jesus in Matthew 25), that I will be judged on our actions.  I can declare my faith, (my "To Do" list if you like), all I like but my actions, (my "Got Done" list), will speak the real truth about what I believe, and whether I put God first in all I do. (Or do I put myself on the throne that only God should sit on?)

Food for thought...
