In the off season, The Boston Red Sox bid US$51m to have the rights to negotiate with the Japanese pitching sensation Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Then they agreed to pay him another 50m over 5 years!
Now, today, really soon, he throws his first pitch at Fenway Park. And here's the real "spooky" thing about it. The batter will be Ichiro Suzuki who paved the way for Japenese baseballers going to the MLB way back in 2001.
Unfortunately, although all of Japan will be able to watch as it happens, Sky TV in New Zealand doesn't seem to take much interest in MLB at all. But if you want to keep track of it at 7.05pm EST (11.05am NZ time) the go along to MLB's home page and click on Gameday for that particular game.
Go Dice-K and the Red Sox!
By the way, if you're reading this in the USA and you want to get your hands on Dice-K gear from EBay, this site sorts EBay stuff very nicely.
